Lily!

My husband I and adopted Lily in November of 2011. She has been a great little dog for us. She love car rides, sleeping inbetween my husband an I, playing with other dogs at the doggie park and walks around Seward Park. We are so glad we were able to add Lily to our family!

Sammi gaining weight

We adopted Sammi (Georgia) a month ago and she weight 13.5 lbs. You could tell she was too thin but we know that her foster parents took great care of her. Today was her first trip to the vet and weighed in at 17 lbs! We watch her food intake and give her only a cup of dog food a day but it looks like she is maturing and growing as we hoped!

She is one of the most active dogs we've ever had ... checking into training to give her the best chance to enjoy life. It's been fun and truly enjoyable relationship so far!

Hiking to Twin Falls

One week after adopting Georgia (now Sammi), we went hiking with friends at Twin Falls and Sammi was the hit on the trails! She responded super well to the collar and leash and allowed anyone who wanted ... the chance to walk her. She managed the entire hike without any problem and was so much fun to watch and play with!

Sammi has been a delight since we brought her home. She is learning every day and we are grateful for her love and company. She still has a lot to learn but who doesn't!

Our experience with PUP was one of the best experiences I have had with an animal adoption agency. The thorough investigation, the thoughtful matching of our needs and desires with the best dog possible has met for a great match.

Thanks to everyone who made this match possible!

Raymond (formerly Luigi)

We adopted Raymond almost 2 years ago. He is doing great! He is fantastic. He just finished a 3-day cycling trip on Lopez Island in his dog trailer. He also got to go kayaking and swimming (oops!).

Raymond is very playful and athletic. He is incredibly sweet, and everyone who meets him loves him. We will always be grateful to PUP for rescuing him. He has a great life now.

Harlow

Hello PUP! We adopted Harlow a little over a month ago and we don't know what we ever did without her! She has the funniest little personality. When you hear a knock at the door she gives a ferocious bark and once you open it she attacks you with kisses. She is learning basic commands and has proven to be a quick little learner. We knew our aussie Layla liked her immediately but we never expected their quick bond. The playing never stops with them and Layla has become very protective over her. Because she is so submissive all her fellow doggie friends just adore her. Her constant tail wagging and growing confidence lets us know that she knows she has found her forever home with us :) thank you so much PUP!

Sincerely,

Corina, Eric, Harlow and Layla

Ps: We kept the name Harlow to honor her foster mother and because we thought it was so unique just like her :)

Lilo One Year Later

Hi PUP! Since it has a year since our sweet dog has entered our lives, I wanted to share our story. Lilo (formerly Chewbacca) was a stray found on the streets of California. By general consensus of our vet, trainer, and complete strangers, we have decided she is a French Bulldog mixed with Shiba Inu. How random is that?

My boyfriend and I got her to keep our puggle company and did not expect to fall in love with her so completely. Don't get me wrong, she is still completely crazy and fearless, especially when she sees other dogs. She has made a lot of progress in obedience classes though (Blue Dog in Issaquah is great). When she's with her family, she is a total bundle of love. The joy that she expresses when she sees us is contagious, whether first thing in the morning or after a long day at work. The enthusiastic shake of her tail, stomp of her feet, and happy "woo-woos" always makes us laugh. Lilo also has a dainty side, in which she grooms herself like a cat. I've never met a dog that smelled so good.

I now can't imagine our lives without our Lilo. Thank you so much for rescuing her and keep up the great work.

Adopting Blue

My family lost our beloved Golden Retriever two years ago, and it took us a while to decide that we were ready for another dog. Luckily, we found Blue through PUP. She is amazing-- so calm and loving. She falls asleep in my lap and has become part of our family in the short time that we've had her. She has adjusted nicely, I think in part to her experience with her foster family. Before PUP found her, Blue had been abandoned in California and was sent to a shelter that was overcrowded and didn't have a "no-kill" policy. But we is more than welcome in our home! Her foster family was very nice and we had a great experience with them and PUP!

Wilby comes to Canada

We first saw "Wilby", now named Kiko, on the PUP website Thursday. Feb 02 /2012 and were drawn in by those beautiful brown eyes. We adopted "Gibbs", now named Rafa from PUP in June/2010 and were thinking of finding him a younger brother. After an exchange of a few emails, we had plans to meet & greet Wilby on Saturday, Feb 4th. Everyone agreed he was a good match for our family and we returned to Vancouver, BC with Rafa and Wilby (Kiko) in the back seat. It was clear he was going to be missed by his foster family. The dogs behaved the entire way home and no questions were asked at the border about them (although we had all the requisite paperwork and shots). On the drive home we decided that Kiko would be Wilby's new name.

Kiko was a bit shy at first, preferring to stay in his crate but gradually explored his new home. Being an "only child", there were a few "toy" and "food" issues to resolve but Rafa was adapting very well to the new member of the pack. They have established their boundaries and enjoy drives, walks and doggy parks. We had Kiko's DNA tested and have learned that his heritage is expectedly a combination of Terriers: Fox(ears/face) /Silky(coat) /Jack Russel(energy, speed and jumping ability). Kiko is still a bit tentative and a bit scared/agressive around large dogs but we are working on that. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night in our bedroom and Rafa sleeps on the bed. They are alone for no more than 4 hours at a time as someone is home for lunch (and a walk) every day. Kiko seems to have taught Rafa how to indicate it's "walk" time by pawing at the door or the door stopper to make that 'twang" sound. We've discovered that Kiko especially loves the sand/beach as he really
comes out of his shell there and chases Rafa around. What a great addition to our family he has become... even better than we'd imagined.

First pic is shortly after arriving in Vancouver; 2nd pic is Kiko looking much better after a visit to the groomer; 3rd pic is Kiko and Rafa on Spanish Banks beach with the City in the background.

My 2nd child...again

Pinto's pics didn't work due to size. I hope this works.

My 2nd child

What can I say? I love my Pinto. He's become such a wonderful part of the family. He has a few nicknames: Pinto Bean, Mr. Bean, Mr. P., and Interrupting Pinto. He has become a wonderful part of our lives. My daughter actually got mad when I took him to doggie daycare one day and she didn't have her buddy to spend her extra hour in the morning, and after school time with. We thought we were going to outsmart him by putting in a doggie door in the back patio door to prevent accidents, only to learn that he uses it as a way to alert us to take him out the front door. Yeah, he has us trained well. Pinto has escorted us on several adventures, and his favorite so far is digging in the sand and visiting the retirement home with the meet up group. He loves to go to the dog park and chase the big dogs. I think he's pretending he's one of them. We noticed him gaining weight, so we got him a ball that he pushes with his nose to release food. He will obsess over it until it's
empty. He will push it all over the house and then ask for more. Whenever I correct my daughter for something, he chimes in too with a few barks. In fact, that's how he got the name of Interrupting Pinto. When I correct her and she talks back, he will run up and let out three short barks and run off right in the middle of her sentence. He has done wonders for my spirit. He enjoyed spending a week in Idaho with us at my parents' house, and got a chance to learn what it's like to be a farm dog. I think he was glad to come back home though. He loves to lie in the sun, play fetch with is mini tennis ball, push is ball that holds food, and just snuggle. When we start playing, he loves to roll in my kisses. He has become quite serious about his job of waking my daughter up in the morning, and is honored to be her alarm for sleepwalking. He just doesn't quit….he's constantly looking for a job. Now that it's spring break, my daughter wants to spend some time teaching him so new
tricks. He already rolls over, dances, fetches, and sometimes will say I love you (more like "roo roo roooooo"). Please enjoy the few good pictures I have of him (it's hard to slow him down) playing with Simon, his best friend, and just having fun. Thanks for the chance to have a wonderful little boy in our lives.

Gus (Loki)

My husband and I adopted Gus (PUP name Loki) on Sept. 24, 2012 at an adoption event in Covenington, WA. He fits in so well with our family and seems very happy. Gus and I are staying in Texas for a few months and my five year old grandson has adopted Gus as his 'best friend'.
Gus has completed an obedience class and has gained in confidence since September. We are so very happy with Gus and look forward to many years together.

Luna

We met Luna at the adoption event at the Redmond Farmer's market and somehow knew she was the one for us. It's been five months since she came and started to brighten our lives and we like to think she's gotten to be very comfortable and happy in her new home.

Luna is constantly entertaining us with her energetic bursts of playfulness. Her slightly clumsy side shines during these times :) When she's not doing that she's a very loving cuddlebug that enjoys snuggling for hours on end.

Thank you to all those at PUP who made it possible to have this very sweet little girl in our lives.

Timothy Found a Family

We met Timothy at the adoption fair at the Reber Ranch Store and immediately fell in love with him! Just a few days later, we met up with Timothy at Petco in Issaquah along with our 3 year old female rescue, Seelie. While Seelie was a little wary at first, she and Timothy (who we now call Timmy) became fast friends!

Timmy and Seelie love to wrestle, play tug-o-war, run circles in the yard endlessly, and snuggle on the couch together. We adore Timmy (who we also call Timmers or Tim-Tim) and take them out to play and on nice long walks every day. Timmy has adjusted well to his new family and he is very loved by all of us!

Pictures of Winnie

Hoping these pictures post. The pictures I posted with her adoption story didn't take. Winnie is doing so great. I look at her and wonder how I got so lucky to have her in my life. Thanks again PUP for all the work you do!

Fender

We adopted Fender just before Thanksgiving, 2011. We have been pet parents of many dogs over the years and I can honestly say that Fender is one of the brightest, sweetest and best behaved. We believe that the wonderful fosters who care for the PUP pets make all the difference in the world for the pets and their adopted families.

Fender loves his long daily walks and I am getting back in shape as a result. He knows when Brad will be coming home from work and waits at the top of the stairs to meet him. He loves playing with and fetching his collection of toys and is learning new commands every day. He is friendly with all the dogs, children and adults he meets. We couldn't ask for a better friend and companion. Thank you again, PUP.

Murphy (Pickles)

Pickles (now Murphy) is turning into the BEST boy! He's potty trained hasn't chewed anything but kleenex. He's crate trained, can sit, dance, lay and bow. He loves riding in the car and going for walks. Our 7 year-old dresses him up and he loves our 4 kids. He can't wait until they come home from school and he loves waking them up in the morning. He remembers to welcome dad home when everyone else is occupied and he falls asleep on your lap when you are watching TV. We are still working on submissive pee and excited friendly bites (nibbles, never breaks skin) and new situations and people. He's slow to warm and can be barky. But he is making so much progress every day! It seems the more we socialize him the better and more perfect for us he becomes.

Anyway, that's my plug for a PUP pup! Thanks!
